Now

That is really good progress right? Cutting my hair and watching it grow back has been so much fun!

I still have been pretty much doing the same things to it all summer...using a clarifying shampoo after I swim which is anywhere from 1 to 2 or 3 times a week( that's probably bad)...co-washing if I don't need to shampoo 1x/week...air drying...buns...or flat ironing once a week and I had a relaxer July 1 and one a few days ago....I have also been using the Nu-Gro shampoo & conditioner and the oil free spray and hair grease.

Black Hair

I was so absolutely sick of the reddish color that was in my hair! I never wanted my hair to be red and I was so sick of looking at it so I finally put some more dye over it. I probably will need to put a permanent dye over it in a couple weeks but for now the rinse is just fine.

Hair Daze: hair cut update (mar 09-jun 09)

It is about time to update how my hair has been doing since I hacked it all off =)

I haven't really been doing anything special to it. I've been washing once a week or more, deep conditioning, using flat irons and hot curlers. I have caused more damage which was why I cut it in the first place...

The deep conditioner that I use is... this conditioner is seriously AMAZING for my hair! Unfortunately it seems as though I have OVER moisturized my hair after weeks of using this product and not using ANY protein at all! My hair is mushy when it's wet and it has been shedding really bad. I was with the boo the other day and pieces of my hair were all over his shirt!

Sooo...I'm trying to up my protein game, but I honestly just don't feel like it :(

I've been trying to just use the 2 min reconstrutor from Aphogee but it is not working and I haven't used the 2 step since my last two relaxers. I know that is what I need to do I just don't feel like it.

I started using the Nu-gro hair system on June 4. So far I've noticed that my hair hasn't been shedding as much, I will try to keep you updated on my results from that.

Meanwhile here are some pics to compare.

My ponytail-I wasn't able to pull my hair back like that when I first got it cut

I will try to do a YouTube video today, but it will have the same pics you see here.

Before anyone asks what my regimen is, first read this. What I have been trying to do is shampoo when my hair feels greasy which is once sometimes twice a week. I'm using the Nu-Gro shampoo followed by the Nu-gro conditioner. After I shampoo and condition in the shower I spray the oil-free and air dry loose. Before my hair gets bushy I pull it into a low ponytail and let it continue to dry that way. Usually the back in the middle never dries completely so that evening after the rest of the hair is dry I take the ponytail back out apply the nu-gro grease and let the hair that is still wet dry.

That is pretty much it for my "Regimen". If I start to see shedding again then I will do the Aphogee 2 min reconstructor.

After swimming I use a clarifying shampoo followed by a regular cheapie conditioner.

Until next time... <3 be blessed

Regimen-Schmeginmen

I try I really do, but I don't think that I'm cut out to be one of those people with a strict hair regimen. I write them out and they look nice on paper but I NEVER follow them. I like to listen to my hair and my body and just do what feels right.

If my hair feels itchy and greasy I know it's time to shampoo, if I see hair in my sink I know it's time for protein...but this whole idea of scheduled treatments and shampoos is just not my cup of tea. First of all my schedule is ever changing, most of the time I don't know what I will be doing from week to week so to schedule to wash my hair every Tuesday night is a setup for failure.

What I have learned from this is just like you can't grab products that someone else uses and expect them to work the same for you I cannot copy parts of someone's lifestyle and expect it to work for me, one size does not fit all.
